International Products CB Scheme Certification and CE Marking Services

It is an abbreviation of a French phrase known as Conformity Europeans which also means European Conformity. The word is also used in newspapers. It serves as a declaration from the manufacturer that the product complies with the essential requirements of the relevant health.

The product that has once been awarded as CE marking then it is able to move freely within the European free trade association and the European Union Countries. This means that customers and other enforcement authorities are permitted to withdraw non-conforming products.

The establishing process of whether or not a product requires CE marking is complex. The products categories that are covered in CE marking directives are medical devices, active implantable medical devices, in vitro diagnostic medical devices, construction products, machinery, electrical equipment, electronic equipment, pressure equipment, gas appliances, simple pressure vessels, radio and telecommunication terminal equipment, cableways, explosives for civil use, toys, recreational craft, foodstuffs, chemicals, cosmetics, lifts, and many more. But these cosmetic products fall under the scope of other European or national legislation they don't need any marking.

CB certification is an International product testing scheme that is developed by IECEE (International electromechanical commission for electrical equipment) for the product safety results and is certified for electrical and electronic equipment around the world.

This certification will help electronics, electrical, lighting, batteries, and household products to enter markets such as Europe, AISA, the UK, and many others. The CB Certification is valid for three years or less.  The CB scheme is for manufacturers who want a smooth export process for electrical products.

It is now becoming increasingly common for countries that are not members of the IECEE scheme to accept the certificate as a minimum requirement. The scheme provides certificates to international and local standards. One or more national certificates may be obtained through the performance of one test and certification.

Overview of EMI/EMC Testing Laboratories and Compliance

EMI/EMC testing laboratories are specialised facilities equipped with sophisticated measurement equipment, controlled environments, and technical expertise to evaluate the electromagnetic characteristics of electronic devices across virtually all industries. These laboratories play a crucial role in product development, regulatory compliance, and market access by providing comprehensive testing services that validate product performance under real-world electromagnetic conditions. The importance of EMC testing has grown exponentially with the proliferation of wireless devices, IoT systems, electric vehicles, and sophisticated electronic systems that must operate reliably in environments filled with electromagnetic energy. From smartphones and medical devices to industrial automation systems and military equipment, virtually every electronic product requires EMC validation to ensure safe and reliable operation. Understanding EMI and EMC Fundamentals Electromagnetic Compatibility (E...

RoHS Compliance Testing: Ensuring Safe, Sustainable, and Market-Ready Electronics

The electronics industry faces increasingly stringent environmental and health regulations aimed at protecting both consumers and the environment. At the forefront of this regulatory landscape stands the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) Directive, which mandates that electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) placed on the European market must comply with strict standards regarding the content of hazardous materials. RoHS Compliance Testing Laboratories play a crucial role in ensuring that manufacturers, importers, and distributors meet these critical requirements and maintain market access in the EU and beyond. The Ten Restricted Substances Under RoHS RoHS Compliance Testing Laboratories focus on detecting and quantifying ten hazardous substances that are prohibited or restricted in electrical and electronic equipment: Heavy Metals: ● Lead (Pb): Limited to 0.1% by weight in homogeneous materials; historically used in solder and electronic connections ● Mercury (Hg): Res...
